Ten days of the Bukruk Urban Arts Festival starts with a party: The Bukruk Music & Arts Festival, a one-day event bringing together an eclectic array of musicians and artists hand-picked from across Europe and Asia on Jan. 23 to a one-of-a-kind venue alongside Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River.
Instead of satisfying a genre checklist, the musical acts were chosen and sought after to fit Bukruk’s mission of culture and cool from cities east and west. Anchoring it in place and time: the venue. Enjoy the sounds and sights of Bukruk’s opening party at the Jam Factory, a Restored Complex of warehouses turned Multidiscliplinary Art Hub. Juan de Guillebon, better known by his stage name DyE, is a French electronic producer. After gaining popularity with the great single “fantasy”, he has released two albums subsequently and will be performing a DJ set at the festival.
Formed in 2001. Apartment khunpa is loved bangkok-based rock band. Its sound consists of rock, funk, jazz, blues and hip-hop combined with a razor-sharp lyrics that talk about everything from politics, ancient myths, philosophy, fashion, bangkok nightlife, music business to pop culture.
Paradise Bangkok International Band
After playing all over the world, Paradise Bangkok International Band will stop by bukruk to play some great local Molam. Wire described them as ” The rhythms are in an indefinable rocking style, sounding something like Appalachian surf breakdowns or Middle Eastern hillbilly duels.” Behold.
Yellow Fang are Bangkok Based trio band (all girls). They have been spreading their velvety alt-rock since 2007, making them one of the most influential band in the local indie scene and gathering a committed crowd internationally. Their style is defined by thick and close vocal harmonies, spacious guitar washes, and elements of shoe gaze.
Side Effect is the most energetic and invigorating indie band from Burma/Myanmar. The band has cultivated an indie sound that combines their poetic Burmese lyrics with their musical roots in punk, and mixes them with elements of garage rock, power pop, and back-to- the-basics rock’n’roll.

Highly excentric, psychedelic Belgo Japanese duo! Their cool and crazy pop melodies are a spicy mixture of electro beats and Brazilian guitar accommodated to a Bollywood sauce.
Dub / Reggae
Srirajah Rockers are one of the most notorious in the long tradition of Reggae bands in Thailand. After releasing acclaimed albums locally they will be in Bukruk presenting their latest album “Still Tuff”.
Gym & Swim
Bangkok-based Quintet tropical-inspired indie pop band. With only two years since their formation, Gym & Swim have an original and recognisable style making them one of the most exciting bands in the indie scene.
Bangkok based electro-funk solo artist from Thailand’s Kitsch Cat Records. His music fuses styles from the likes of Herbie Hancock, Prince, Midnight Star, Tyrone Brunson and the Sugar Hill Gang as inspiration. Known for his acclaimed solo work for Bangkok’s Kitsch Cat records as well as various Thai indie labels.
Punk / Hardcore
Bangkok based rock band with guitars for hands and kick drum for a heart! Playing an explosive mixture of hardcore punk and harmonised melodies close to 80’s metal that shake everything around them.
Dj ORO, founder and director of Cambodian Vintage Music Archive, will be playing an array of sounds of the Cambodian ‘golden era’: from Pen Ran to Ros Serey Sothea and everyone in between.

Mongkorn Timkul also known as DJ Dragon has been feeding Drum & Bass in Bangkok for decades making him one of the pillars of the underground club scene in the city.
In Bukruk he will be playing a strong Techno/bass set.
Progressive punk band PLOT is loud, rambunctious yet entertaining. Their music emanates a raw burst of youthful energy that is not only evident in their high energy performances but also in their honest songwriting.
Bangkok based Rockers, Yena, have been slowly gathering a committed following since 2009, making them one of the most interesting acts in the city. From folk to rock, Yena will be presenting they new EP also called Yena.
